Experience

I have been teaching at the college level since 1996. Before that I was a graduate student at Clemson University working toward a Ph.D. in computer science. While in that program, I served as an instructor for week-long courses in object-oriented design and development at places such as Bell Labs and Bell Northern Research. Prior to graduate school at Clemson, I worked for 13 years as a software engineer. I had the opportunity to develop compilers, develop management information systems, develop test cases for the ACVC, model systems using SADT, and even manage a multi-million dollar contract.

Be resourceful.

If a solution to a problem isn’t forthcoming, work harder.

Find a need and fill it.

If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right [sic].
