I joined the Wofford faculty in 2002. I teach philosophy and humanities and often seek out opportunities to co-teach with professors from other disciplines. I have taught with professors in English, physics, religion, and mathematics. In 2010, I was honored with Wofford’s Philip Covington Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Humanities and Social 
Sciences.
In 2006, I co-edited with Jeanne Sorrell the book, Listening to the Whispers: Re-Thinking Ethics in Healthcare from the University of Wisconsin Press.
Our second book, Our Dissertations, Ourselves: Shared Stories of Women’s Dissertation Journeys, was released in 2014 by Palgrave Macmillan. This book engages readers in intimate stories from twenty women who wrote doctoral dissertations across nine disciplines. Their stories bring to light the common experiences, emotions, and challenges in the sometimes overwhelming process of writing a dissertation amidst a full and complex life. Designed to invite readers into shared experiences, this book provides support and guidance for women writing dissertations, their advisors, and all those on the journey with them, inviting readers to gain new understandings of the often-isolating world of the dissertation writer and celebrate the courage and creativity that these twenty women demonstrate.
