Dr. Philip Swicegood teaches Finance at Wofford College.  Philip is the R. Michael James Family Professor of Finance at Wofford, chairs the Department of Accounting, Business and Finance, and has served as a Fulbright Scholar for the U.S. State Department in Croatia.  He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Florida State University, an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas-Austin, and a B.S. degree in Finance and Philosophy from Liberty University.  Philip founded and directs The Broad River Group LLC, a real estate investment firm.  He has worked in the banking industry as an analyst for the United States Treasury Department, and has served as a business consultant and expert witness for companies all over the world.  In addition to teaching, Philip has published widely in multiple finance journals, and he conducts finance seminars for HighMark Inc., a non-profit consulting firm that provides business training in developing countries. Philip and his wife Cindy have two children, Stephanie and Susanna. Their family is active in service and community life at Grace Presbyterian Church.  When not engaged with the three ladies of his life, Philip enjoys fly fishing, reading, ultimate frisbee, and making ridiculously hard tests for his students.<\/p>\n
